Members of the International
The member countries of the Communist International form the so called first world, and though many just focus on the Soviet Union and American Republics, there is a great deal more to the organization than that. United in opposition to the Alliance, the Axis, the Dominion, Atomic China (and divided in opinion regarding Atlatea), the International has grown more united from the days when it went from just a tool of Soviet foreign policy to an arena for Soviet and American competition to an Anti-Fuller alliance to the most powerful union of ideas and armies the world has ever seen.

The first Communist nation in the world was born out of the ashes of the defeated Russian Empire in WW1. Military disasters in 1917 lead to one revolution that toppled the Tsardom, but this new Russian Republic made the mistake of deciding to stay in the war to the bitter finish, which meant that when the Bolsheviks were reintroduced to the country by the German Empire; its collapse into a second revolution was essentially inevitable. After a bloody civil war, the Empire was largely pulled together under the Bolsheviks who declared a Union of Soviet Socialist Republics under its first premier; Vladimir Lenin. Lenin predicted that the Soviet Union could not stand alone, and had hoped to spread communism beyond the USSR's borders, hoping that the socialist movements in the Balkans, Eastern Europe, and Germany would form a red bloc to oppose Capitalist America and western Europe. He did not see this come to pass in his lifetime beyond a successful revolution in Hungary, but little did he know that the USSR would see Lenin's hopes of a red bloc come to fruition in a tremendous way.
The victory of the American socialists in its 1932 elections in response to the trials and tribulations of the great depression, the sore wounds in society left by a floundering progressive movement and the deep scars of America's controversial and bloody involvement in the first world war for little gain all lead to people showing just what they thought of the system as it was working. Though an attempted violent coup was attempted by MacArthur and others rightists willing to go to the extremes to prevent the Reds from taking their seats; it was defeated quite quickly, with Soviet support (as citizens of the Soviet Union are quick to remind Americans; though Americans counter that the USSR did not involve itself until the American Reds had proven themselves to be the likely winners) and an American Union of Socialist Republics was declared.
Almost immediately there were tensions between the USSR and the UASR as the two struggled with one another to determine the soul of Communism. Stalin, who had succeeded Lenin by his bureaucratic maneuverings while more charismatic leaders squabbled around him; was faced with a challenge to his theories on Socialism in one country (Hungary, Mongolia, and Tannu Tuva hardly being large enough to be worth too much consideration in global geopolitics), his authoritarian theories on governance, and his foreign policy goals for the Communist International. However, though the Soviet Union had the larger population; America had the greater economic and industrial capacity (and was the provider for valuable high quality machinery and expertise he could get nowhere else) and in its Latin American allies; the greater number of Communist countries in its debt.
Stalin was increasingly sidelined in the communist party of the Soviet Union and found his attempt to consolidate power deflected to a great degree. Though his party was able to maintain its lead in the first multiparty elections of the Soviet Union and he managed to retain his positions of General Secretary of the Communist Party and Premier of the USSR; he was now scarcely more powerful than most democratic heads of government. However, the USSR has always had a stubborn will, and it refused to bend entirely to the will of America. Retaining a more conservative outlook on Communism than its American counterpart, the Soviet Union has generally been seen as perhaps the less libertarian of the big two of Communism.

What would would call Socialism's greatest triumph is a country that has gone from being largely ignored in the courts of Europe to being the great fear of many countries and the great hope of others. To most other socialists, the UASR is a symbol of progress, hope, that even the most formidable bastions of capitalism can be reborn in a new socialist form. To capitalists and reactionaries of all stripes, the UASR is a symbol of fear; that nothing is safe and that the red menace is around the corner. Born in 1933 in response to MacArthur's attempted putsch to stop the American Socialists from taking the seats they won in the election, the American Reds and Blacks defeated the American Whites in a swift civil war and founded a new country with a new constitution. Instituting a multiparty democracy and a new market socialist system, the UASR very quickly came to challenge the USSR for dominance of the communist international; and as Stalin couldn't get the high quality machinery, hard currency, and technical expertise he needed elsewhere the USSR was gradually forced to heel.

Now considered one of the "third powers" ever since the fall of China, Mexico has undergone a truly massive population explosion since its Socialist revolution due to policies greatly encouraging high birth rates and subsidizing large families. When America underwent its revolution, Mexico could hardly escape joining in the Red tide as Socialist movements in Mexico looked enthusiastically upon America's civil war and even streamed into the country to help the Americans in the hopes that they would help their own country. And lo and behold, American and Soviet forces came to Mexico in due time and set up a Union of Mexican Socialist Republics who helped Mexico go from a Social Democratic Pink to a crimson red. Socialism would come to be associated with progress in Mexico as its newfound allies helped it develop to new heights and into a great power in its own right. The country had rapidly gone from a backwater into a country with its own large and powerful military and a substantial base of heavy and light industry and scientific knowledge.
When the Americas were embattled by the second world war, Mexico helped to push back the Alliance in Latin America and in the north of the continent as Mexican soldiers beat back the Canadian and Brazilian hordes and served in the USSR and China and even Iran to help Socialism survive and thrive in the old world as well as the new. Mexican soldiers also contributed to the liberation of a number of nations in Africa and in Indochina, being inserted by submarine into the countries to cause trouble in the Alliance's colonies. By war's end, Mexico had proven itself as a powerhouse of a country and a worthy member of the Communist International capable of being so much more than "America's little chihuahua" as Fuller had famously dismissed the country at one point.
But perhaps Mexico's most famous contribution to Communism is in the form of ideology, from Ernesto Zapata who created a new theory of communism based on the revolutionary potential of rural and agrarian peasants in underdeveloped countries. A theory that would come to be called Zapatismo, which like Trotskyism; held that socialist revolutionaries could serve as both the liberal and the socialist revolution of a country in one fell swoop, and that there was no need to wait for liberal bourgeoisie to progress a country out of the agrarian stage. This ideology spread like wildfire in the developing world and in many oppressed minorities, and included a treatise on how to conduct a guerilla war, whether in a capitalist country or in an occupied socialist one.

Socialist Federation of China
Once the third power of the Communist International, the Socialist Republic of China has been scattered and broken by the Atomic bombing of China and the rise of green China. Though they could rebuild a strong, powerful (if reduced) Republic were they to band together, so soon after the bombs; Jingwei's legacy has yet to pull itself back together from the mess of fiefdoms it became. Indeed, so thoroughly devastated was Red China's chain of command that technically speaking, Tank General Ta Hun Kwai is by its chain of legal succession; its current Premier, though he is currently residing in the International's headquarters at Panama City to drum up support for the cause of defeating Atomic China and rebuilding the Socialist Republic.
China's path to Socialism was quite...confusing. Going from Feudal Imperialism to Sun Yat Sen's broadly leftist program to Chiang Kai-Shek's cronyism to Jingwei's openly socialist platform China underwent a number of changes and only one of these really involved a violent revolution. However Wang Jingwei's open pivot towards the Soviet Union and the American Republics disgruntled many in the Kuomintang that would eventually lead to a split that would tear apart the country.

The lynchpin of the Comintern's middle eastern strategy experienced massive population growth following the post-first world war Communist revolution in Iran, significantly its population in 30 years as it was developed to the same standards as the UASR and USSR. A powerful country and the primary promoter of Socialist in the Islamic world, the PDUIR, or simply Iran as its known; is also one of the few countries in the Comintern with reach in the Indian ocean; making it vital for getting supplies to Indian ocean communist movements via submarine. Being a firm contender with Mexico, Yugoslavia, and Poland for the title of the third power of the Communist international in the wake of Red China's apparent demise; each flashing around the blocs within the Communist International they've built around themselves as proof of their ability to contribute in a big way to the cause of Communism. And with the growth of the western african republics and the worker's republic of korea in terms of power, there remains stiff competition for the title of China's replacement as the number three power. However so far the competition remains rather friendly as all powers involved are well aware of who the real enemy is.
In world war II, Iran was assaulted on three sides, on the east by the Raj, from the south across the Persian gulf from the Arabian peninsula, and from the east by the British Raj. Amazingly, Iran held out against all odds with an epic and heroic defense of their motherland against the capitalists as well as against Alliance backed monarchist insurgents. Going from a seemingly hopeless situation to not just pushing the Alliance back but overruning many of their colonies was a feat of incredible military daring and expertise and ample support from the three great powers of the comintern.
